Visual Arts Scholarships and Awards

A portfolio competition is held each March for incoming art majors:

-the $1500 Academic Excellence Scholarship, for one year, and
-the $3000 Anna Lamar Switzer Scholarship, covering two years.

Information on the application process is available from the department and packets are mailed each February to art teachers in the Escambia and Santa Rosa County (FL) area. Others may write for an application packet to:

Many additional scholarships and awards are conferred through the department each April as part of the annual student exhibition. There is no application process. Those scholarships, based on student performance and participation in the student show, are selected by the faculty.

 PJC Scholarships

Students may also apply for PJC scholarship assistance. Those forms are available from the Financial Aid Office. Additional information is on  the PJC Financial Aid website. 

Co-ops and Internships

Cooperative education is a paid work experience that places students in a situation related to their academic or vocational field. Students should contact the Cooperative Education Office.
