Getting Started - Current PJC Students

1.  Decide How to Pay for Classes

If eligible, apply for federal financial aid.  Financial aid is money from various sources made available to assist eligible students in paying for the costs of higher education. Student Financial Aid (SFA) is available from federal and state government as well as private and public organizations.

      A.  Fill out your FAFSA form or a Renewal FAFSA if you filled out a FAFSA last year.
      B.  Your SAR results will arrive in the form of a letter or an email a few weeks after you
           submit the FAFSA.
      C.  Review your SAR to find out the amount and type of aid available to you.

3.  Choose Your Classes

The placement testing requirement must be completed prior to your first registration. If you have transfer college-level credit in English and math/algebra, you will not need to take the placement test. If you have ACT or SAT scores that are no more than two years of age, you may submit those test scores. If you do not have college-level English and math/algebra OR do not have recent ACT or SAT scores, please contact a testing center on the campus of your choice to make an appointment to take the CPT.

You are encouraged to speak with an advisor or your program manager prior to registration. Advisors may be reached at the following telephone numbers:
