PJC “PIRATE PETE” Mascot Tryouts
The primary mission of the Cheer Squad is to support the athletic teams, assist in motivating the crowd, entertain the audience at games and at other school functions, as well as promote overall school spirit.
Prospective cheerleaders must be a student or incoming student enrolled in nine (9) college credit hours for both Fall & Spring term. They must maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA. They must be available to cheer at all Men's & Women's basketball games.
We are looking for prospects with the ability to do a standing backhandspring (without a spot), with previous cheeer experience, with strong motion technique and the ability to do jumps (toe touch, pikes, hurdlers).
During the school year, the team practice three day per week, 2 -3 hours each practice. In addition to practice squad members have scheduled cardiovascular and conditioning workouts.
We perform at all Men's and Women's Basketball games (while maintaining a regular practice schedule. The basketball season begins in November.
