Thirty high school students participating in the Florida State University SSTRIDE (Science Students Together Reaching Instructional Diversity Excellence) Program attended the Pensacola Junior College/West Florida AHEC summer simulation camp. Among their experiences, the students worked with the Noelle birthing simulator, participated in scenarios with EMTs and Paramedics working in a trauma incident, and learned from Harvey, the cardiopulmonary simulator, to identify normal and abnormal heart and lung sounds. They worked with adult simulators to experience treating a hospitalized patient. The camp culminated with a mock disaster exercise.
