Ami-Lee
Wilder was a member of the Theta Chi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa
at PJC. She was very active and involved in the chapter, but was
killed in a tragic car accident before she had a chance to graduate.
Her parents set up a scholarship in her honor to help students (especially
PTK students) to complete their education at PJC. This scholarship
fund receives some matching funds from the State of Florida, and
there is an annual golf tournament which raises funds for the scholarship
as well.
This
scholarship is open to all Pensacola Junior College Students.
However, preference is given to Phi Theta Kappa members.
Several $1000 scholarships are awarded Fall, Spring, & Summer
terms. The scholarship can be used towards tuition, fees, &
books.
