Health Fair Free Public Event

Pensacola Junior College invites the public to take advantage of free health screenings and gather helpful information at its Health Fair.

The free event is 8 a.m. to noon Thursday, Oct. 29, on the Milton campus, 5988 Highway 90.

PJC nursing and massage therapy students are participating and assisting various health organizations with screenings and assessments.

Some services: heart health cardio risk factor assessments, free, Baptist Health Care; cholesterol, PSA and glucose screenings, free, Santa Rosa Medical Center; blood drive, Northwest Florida Blood Center; hearing assessments, free, Dr. John Carter; height/weight, blood pressure checks, free, PJC nursing students; 10-minute chair massages, free, PJC message therapy students.

Other participating organizations include Favor House, Covenant Hospice, Emerald Coast Hospice, Lupus Foundation of America, M.A.D.D. and Arthritis Foundation.

The fair includes a cookout sponsored by the Student Government Association and photo opportunities in the inflatable “Big Chair.”
