PJC's First Energy Education Specialist

Shannon Keithley is the first energy education specialist at Pensacola Junior College. In the newly created position, Keithley will develop and implement an energy management program at PJC as well as work on other sustainability initiatives.

Keithley has extensive experience in the energy and environmental fields. Her previous experience includes: associate attorney, real estate/land use, environmental and natural resources, Allen Matkins Leck Gamble Mallory & Natsis, LLP, San Diego, Calif.; senior environmental specialist/land planning, San Diego Gas & Electric; senior environmental planner/project manager, AMEC Earth & Environmental Inc., San Diego.

Keithley earned her law degree from the University of San Diego Law School and was admitted to the California Bar in 2003; she passed the Florida Bar exam in 2009. Keithley has a Master of Environmental Science & Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from the University of California at Santa Barbara.

Her affiliations include the Industrial Environmental Association, San Diego Chapter; Association of Environmental Professionals; and Alabama Coastal foundation. She is a contributing author to the California State Bar Environmental Law Section Update publication.
