The Pensacola Civic Band, sponsored by Pensacola Junior College, is holding auditions 6 p.m. Aug. 25 at the Ashmore Fine Arts Center, Building 8, room 858A, on the Pensacola campus.
Don Snowden, musical director of the Pensacola Civic Band, is especially interested in auditioning new players for flute, clarinet, oboe, horn, trumpet, trombone and percussion. Go to the band's Web site www.pensacolacivicband.org and click on "Join Us" for audition requirements.
Nationally recognized as winner of the John Philip Sousa Foundation's Sudler Silver Scroll Award, the Civic Band has been sponsored by PJC since 1971.The 38th season's fall performances are planned for Pensacola, Navarre and Gulf Shores, Ala.
Rehearsals are 7 p.m. Tuesdays in the Kennedy Rehearsal Hall in the Ashmore.
