PJC Top National Producer of Associate Degrees
7/14/2009

Pensacola Junior College President Ed Meadows announces PJC's national ranking as a top producer of associate degrees.

Six of PJC's associate degree rankings place in the Top 100 of all colleges, and four of these place in the Top 50, according to Community College Week.

"We are very proud of our students, faculty and staff for gaining this national recognition," Meadows says. "PJC's track record in student organization competitions and pass rates on licensure exams validate that along with numbers also comes quality at PJC."

The United States has about 1,200 community and technical colleges and hundreds of regional universities such as the University of West Florida and Troy University that also offer associate degrees.

Since 1988, Community College Week has been the independent source of in-depth information for and about two-year college faculty, administrators and trustees.

Each year, the biweekly based in Fairfax, Va., releases a Special Report featuring the Top 100 degree producing two-year institutions.

PJC rankings:

·         Associate degrees (Liberal Arts, Sciences, General Studies and Humanities) rank 29;

·         Associate degrees (Nursing) rank 33;

·         Associate degrees (Health Professions and Related Clinical Sciences) rank 36;

·         Associate degrees (Non-Minority, all disciplines) rank 41;

·         Associate degrees (All disciplines) rank 65;

·         Associate degrees (African-American, all disciplines) rank 99.
