Questions & Answers with the Director
Why does PJC need money from supporters?
- Without support, student debt would increase, making an education at PJC out of reach for many potential students.
- As government funding for education becomes less certain, each contribution takes on even greater importance.
- Many other community colleges offer generous funding. We need to continue to enhance our scholarship dollars to remain competitive with the other colleges.
- Studies show that scholarship funds help to recruit underserved populations. We expect increasing numbers of students due to demographics and economic indications.
I support other causes already. Why should I support PJC?
Charitable givers understand that it is important to keep their causes financially sound. PJC needs their support for the same reason. In order to provide the highest quality education possible, PJC requires considerable funds.
Will my gift make a difference?
Yes! A gift of any size can have a tremendous impact and is extremely important to PJC. Not only do gifts add up, but they also help to encourage other givers. Foundations, corporations and individual donors with significant capacity to give often look for a college with strong overall backing before they will commit to supporting it. In addition, consistent giving helps PJC meet a large percent of its annual needs and attracts gifts for instructional equipment, teachers and student scholarships.
